Because it's the in thing to blog about Star Wars Episode III

It just occured to me.

After the very expensive, very impressive and very high tech disappointments that were Star Wars Episode I and Star Wars Episode II, I wonder why I still carry a flicker of hope in my heart that Star Wars Episode III would at least match Episodes 4, 5 and 6.

I've been thinking about it for the past 5 minutes, and I still don't know why. Faith? Denial? Naivete? Idealism? Irrational hope?

Is anyone else hoping as I am hoping, or am I alone in this venture that borders on idiocy? It would really help for me to know I'm not alone (it's a complicated pyschology thing I don't exactly remember right now), so if you're out there, gimme a holler.

Last attempt to lull myself to sleep with my words.

Hmm, I just remembered that I had some weird chocolate ice-cream in Ikano from a corner shop called Becka Lecka or Lecka Becka. It wasn't good.

PS: I realise the last three posts were all over the place. I can't help it, I need to sleep but sleep eludes me. That's why I'm using weird words, remembering weird stuff and writing about weird things.

If I could bottle this I won't have to buy another lottery number again in my life.

Go to the kitchen, pry open the cabinet that has always been locked because someone(you) is an alcoholic.

Take that 1 Litre bottle of vodka that you have always been sipping. Drink in small proportions and feel the sleeping grooove.

*repeat until sleep process kicks in*

You probably would have guessed that I would be agreeing with you. I & II suck big time but yes I would at least watch 4, 5 and 6! Don't ask me why but tell me once you figured out the reason.:)

SPOLER ALERT!!!!!!

Anakin is Darth Vader

/SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!

Pebs, believe it or not, (and this is not the geek in me speaking) but I took Episode 1 rather well. 2 though was a little iffy with all the raging teen hormornes and flying yoda but I still thought it was passable for an SW flick. At least lucas managed to slip in some tight scenes that might have otherwise made for the most boring movie in the whole SW series. I'm not a lucas fanboy though, and still agree ESB was the only SW movie that would have deserved an oscar if lotr3 could get one.

Having said all that, nothing is going to disappoint me in episode 3. That last battle on mustafa is sure going to rock.. at least, i cant wait for the jokes I can crack at the cinemas when Ben goes, 'I LOVE YOU' to Annie.

Hopefully there will be an uncut DVD where we get to see Amidala get it on with Annie and I hope lucas keeps to his word and ties the knots properly; like killing off JarJar binks and making sure we have at least ONE wookie reference in Ep3.

PS. Any takers that windu takes out dooku in that amazing 1to1 only to have boba come in from behind killing him off with just one rocket in true 'wtf? just one rocket?'-style? I bet my life savings that or something in similiar vein happens..

1 and 2 was okay i guess though i have to agree with taste on the distaste when yoda did that flying shaolin shit. and anakin and amidala practically made a hollywood hindi film outta 2.. *gag*

thus it warms me to my core that 3 would highlight the transformation of anakin in vader. i've always have a soft spot for tragic good guys-turned baddies...

on another note, saffy, it's lecka lecka methinks and i find it okay, since technically it's not exactly dairy ice cream but some mush fruit yoghurt concoction :D

Heyo~

Well if anything, i do suppose you should watch this last one simply because it's the conclusion to a very very long saga which began a good 3 decades ago. I think however, you shouldn't have too much expectations~ Just watch it w/out tht irrepressible womanly logic tht you're bestowed with and enjoy it for what it is :)

Stay away from reviews. Stay away from any written hints of it. Go into the cinema expecting the worse (I know it's not easy!). Then, the show will often turn out to be a pleasant surprise.

Hey, the above often works for me. *grins*

Call me crazy, but I kind of like the romance bit and flying Yoda in Star Wars Episode II... And I found episodes 1 and 2 fine if you ask me... I found episode 2 the most touching too...

I watched Star Wars the first (still cant bring myself to think of it as Episode 4) when I was 11 or 12 and was all frothy mouthed about it with my neighbourhood chums. I think it was probably because what with special effects being what they were in those days it was more about the story and characters. But these days seems to me the special effects tend to drown everything else out and there seldom is much left over. LOTR was an exception because it was based on an already good trilogy. With Episodes 1 & 2 I couldn't help getting the feeling it was a case of milking the cash cow for all she's worth. Maybe that's the main source of the let down.

Oh yeah I reckon back then Star Wars was the benchmark. Newer movies have a lot more to live up to what with the Matrix and all.

I have that same flicker of hope. Must be a virus.

just a sidenote, that isn't windu vs dooku. after uh.. 'achieving enlightenment', it is probably a windu vs palpatine or windu vs anakin, but definitely not dooku.

that is all.

Episode two sucked big time. The only reason to watch it was the obi wan story strain and the ending where we see tons of clone soldiers marching to the Imperial March theme song. I hope the third would kick all their asses. If lucas screws this up, I think Vader himself will come from the far away galaxy and slice him up with his blazing red light saber. Or strangle him with the Force. Wait, I suddenly feel like booting KOTOR up. And I haven't even played it yet :P

@Lance:
Haha, I like the way you think. ;)

@Pebbs:
Actually, I didn't guess you would, haha. You don't sound like a SW geek to me. :D

@Taste:
OH NOES, YOU HAVE RUINED IT FOR ME!!1!!!one

Ep2 would probably go down in the annals of history for having the worst and most stilted romance dialogue ever penned and uttered in a movie.

I still shudder when I think of it, ugh. Flying Yoda was pretty cool at first though. If only the dose was smaller and shorter. :p

@Frosty:
Bollywood movie rofl.

Maybe I expected them to be on par with 4, 5 and 6 that was the problem, I dunno ler.

Fruit yogurt? *gags* The only ice-cream worth eating is creamy dairy ice-cream, IMO. :) I don't see the point otherwise.

@Matty:
Yeah, gonna watch this for sure. I just keep hoping it'll be good.

WTH irrepressible womanly logic??!!

@Iblogme:
Kinda hard to avoid a high-profile movie like this. I think Lucas is shooting himself in the foot by promoting it so heavily. Hyped up movies suually disappoint (evidence Ep1 and 2), but then again it's failed twice, so people should be going in with reasonable expectations this time around.

*hope hope hope*

@Seanna:
OMG you actually LIKED the romance bit? I maintain that Lucas needs to get abetter writer. Watch 10 things I hate about you, the dialogue is much MUCH better, IMO.

@Foot:
Wah...

Yeah, I agree about the special effects point. I think the best effects are the ones where you don't even notice in the movie.

Hmm...I hope that made sense.

@James:
If it's a virus, I wonder who I got it from. :)

@Bawang:
For me, the marching clones weren't that impressive. Maybe I'd already given up on the film by then. :p

KOTOR is not meant to kept. It should be played. *grins*
